WHAT WE DO

CUNNINGHAM LINDSEY ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS™ is a one-stop environmental consulting firm that provides services for any event which may have environmental implications.

We provide an open-to-close approach, and can act as consultants, project managers, or general contractors. From the second a loss occurs until the environment is restored, ESRS™ environmental solutions is working to protect and serve you, every step of the way.

We also offer Education & Training services, providing a broad range of health and safety and environmental response training and emergency response planning services that include: hazardous materials handling, regulatory compliance, spill and emergency response, and confined space management. >> Click here for information on Education & Training

We are experienced with the following environmental services:

Mould Remediation

Once a suspicion of mould has been raised, ESRS™ environmental solutions expertise can be put to work to help you. Our services can include the initial assessment, the hiring of and supervision of contractors, and the final verification that the work is completed. You can choose which role(s) you would like us to play.

Our initial investigation has two purposes: the first is to help establish if the mould is related to the loss. The second is to determine the appropriate remedial protocols (a significant factor in controlling costs).

Following the removal and/or cleaning of damaged materials (which must be conducted by experienced and qualified personnel), an inspection is conducted to confirm the remediation was successful.

Petroleum Spills

ESRS™ environmental solutions is on-call and ready to provide emergency response to petroleum spills 24-hours a day.

We are highly experienced in residential, commercial and transportation related spills. Once we are at the spill site we do a full assessment and conduct any emergency response activity necessary to contain the spill and prevent migration.

As required, we immediately notify proper regulatory agencies. If the product has entered the groundwater we will retain the services of a professional Hydrogeologist.

We ensure that all work done to clean up the spill complies with applicable environmental laws and guidelines. Our personnel work closely with customers and regulatory authorities to ensure a clean-up is performed in a cost-effective manner while meeting all relevant and appropriate regulations.

We always decontaminate all areas after cleanup, continue to monitor and sample if necessary, and provide a closure report to the proper regulatory agencies within a reasonable amount of time. We also issue a progress report to the client every Monday morning, which also reflects all costs incurred to date.

Chemical Remediation

When responding to a chemical spill, the first thing we do is ensure the safety of persons involved. Depending on the size and nature of the spill area, occupants may have to be evacuated.

As per government regulation [EPA, Section 92(1)], "Every person having control of a pollutant that is spilled and every person who spills or causes or permits a spill of a pollutant that causes or is likely to cause and adverse effect shall forthwith notify the Ministry". It is the duty of ESRS™ environmental solutions to immediately notify the Ministry of the Environment and the Municipality in which the spill occurred.

Our crew will stop, contain and initiate steps to ameliorate any effect on the environment. Personal protective equipment appropriate to the hazard is worn by any facilitators and crew involved in the clean up. If removal of the soil is necessary it is disposed of at a licensed facility according to the manufacturers instructions and local regulations.

ESRS™ environmental solutions decontaminates all areas after cleanup, continues to monitor and sample if necessary, and provides closure reports to the proper regulatory agencies.

Habitat Restoration

ESRS™ environmental solutions offers an infrastructure to provide Project Management including Cost Control for the restoration of environmental damages to rivers and streams including:

1. Rebuilding of river channel blockages
2. Restoration of stream bank stabilization
3. Removal of debris and gravel from rivers and streams
4. Restoration of damages to dykes
5. River steerage to lessen the chance of future flooding

We identify and assess the impact on water courses, fish habitat, public safety and basic habitability of adjacent properties while working with governmental agencies like the Department of Environment and Labour, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Fisheries and the Emergency Measures Organization, ensuring continual monitoring of environmental compliance of Provincial Regulations.

ESRS™ environmental solutions has extensive experience with a variety of local sector contractors, as well as with Federal and Provincial agencies. We provide commitment to innovative problem solving and cost effective design work. We ensure our projects are implemented in a sustainable and environmentally acceptable manner that helps address specific issues for each watercourse.

Watercourses characteristics are the result of the complex interaction of numerous factors including geology, water flow and velocity, sediment regime, riparian vegetation and woody debris. Our river morphology assessments are crucial to understand the overall physical watershed processes.
